Excavating Minds, One Dig at a Time
Archaeology Enrichment is officially underway!
Our first full rotation is in progress, and our young archaeologists are already putting their critical-thinking skills to work!
Grades 2–5 are investigating collections of modern-day artifacts. Using careful observations and evidence, they’re working to solve a mystery: Who did these items belong to, and what was this person doing? Just like real archaeologists, students are learning that objects can tell a story—we just have to know how to read the clues!
PreK–1st grade archaeologists are starting with the basics: using their senses to make close observations of human-made and natural objects. They’re learning to notice details, describe what they see, and begin distinguishing between observation and inference.
And all of this is building the foundation for what’s coming next…
SIMULATED ARCHAEOLOGICAL DIGS!
We’re learning to observe, question, investigate, think critically, and use evidence—one artifact at a time.
Archaeology Enrichment with Mrs. Pennington is exciting and fun!
